Cambodia and Maldives Agree on Mutual 30-Day Visa-Waiver

MALÉ: Cambodia and the Maldives have jointly agreed upon a 30-day visa waiver between the two countries for holders of official, diplomatic, and ordinary passports. The two countries signed an agreement on this decision on Monday, 16 January 2023.

The President of the Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, spoke at a news conference on Monday at the Maldives Presidential Palace saying that he was "delighted" to reach a visa agreement with Cambodia.

"Maldivians and Cambodians will be able to travel freely without a visa for 30 days," he affirmed.

He added that people-to-people ties are an important part of bilateral relations and stressed that the two countries will continue to work together to achieve all mutually agreed-upon goals.

The two countries also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on tourism, an economic and health-related agreement, as well as an MoU on bilateral consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia.
